Hidden Valley Crit Training
*** DCC will continue to host Crit Training based on the latest NT Government health advice***
Gates open 5:30 pm Thursdays for a 6 pm sharp start. See map here for details on track access. Our agreement with the Hidden Valley Management is that we are off-site by 7 pm, so please ensure that you make a quick departure once training ceases.
The training is several laps around the race circuit (2.82 km laps), sometimes 6 -10 laps in one go (depending on your grade) but often a combination of a smaller number of laps. It can be intense, but you can ride at your own speed on a really smooth race track. Each grade will decide the number of laps before the training commences.
Payment: You can either purchase an individual session for $5 or an annual pass for $50 (1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022) here. Juniors have free entry. The fee is to help offset the cost of hiring the venue.
As this is a club event, all riders also need to have a minimum of Lifestyle membership through AusCycling, although a AusCycling Race All Disciplines membership will let you participate in any of our race events. Membership options here.
Note: Crit training sessions will be conducted at Berrimah Business Park (BBP) when Hidden Valley is unavailable due to Major Events such as the V8 Supercars. BBP dates are marked with an asterisk below. Sunset is earlier than 7pm for these BBP dates and lights are required.
Wet Weather Policy
Only very wet weather will prevent crit from proceeding. We will post on our Facebook page by 4.30pm(ish) if it's not going ahead. If it's looking in doubt we'll still post to confirm one way or another. No post = going ahead. We will also leave a sign on the gates when we cancel the training due to bad weather just in case the gates are already open for some other purpose. Please do not enter the venue when this occurs.
